fabulous fauteuils – the axel three-seater

Yeah that’s right, this chair is amazing… Covered in recycled jute sacks brought back from Europe and finished with a “passiflora” welting, this chair(s) stopped me in my tracks. It is at once, totally over the top and totally understated. It is said to provide “the togetherness of a sofa and the solitude of a chair,” it is and isn’t all at the same time …well done Anthropologie.

Don’t know what more I can say besides, um, love. Anthropologie you continue to please. And by please I mean blow me away with your amazing finds. This leather is delicious, and the designs are exquisite. So yes, pretty pretty please.

behold BHLDN

This week Anthropologie launched its new wedding line BHLDN. And lo and behold, it is exquisite. So feminine, so playful – so extravagant, so chic. The details are wonderful, the ruching, the layers, the pleats, the crocheted embellishments, the scalloped hems, the eyelet lace, the feathers, the flowers… Whichever girl you are, there is something for you. Whether barefoot in the sand, corseted at the Plaza, overflowing in tulle on your church steps, or sipping sazeracs in your shift, there is something for you. And if you aren’t sure which you are BHLDN has devised a simple test to help you determing which you are… I did… and they told me this:

From Russia with Love

What better way to move into the winter months than with kitchen and tableware from the land that knows how to beat the bleak. Known for their rich crimson hues, gilded domes, and fur, not silver, linings, Russia’s culture and design radiate festivity, warmth, and opulence. I mean, who doesn’t want that on their holiday table?

And there are ornaments, too! Perfect for decking the halls while enjoying one of my favorite vodkas and nibbling zakuski. Mmm… love.

chalked interiors

I love the latest styling from Anthropologie’s website, the sets are painted entirely in chalkboard and the rooms and interiors are drawn-in in chalk. What an inspiring idea, it could have interesting applications in the home or in a retail environment.
