adore home

Adore Home has just come out with their latest online issue for June and July. An outstanding and fun new home and lifestyle magazine from Australia, they are available exclusively online – to be read free and immediately – how great is that? Founded and created by designer Loni Parker, Adore Home invites you into inspirational homes, looks at the latest products on the market and whisks you away to gorgeous holiday destinations. You should have a look, below are some of my favorite moments from their latest 138 pages…

Check them out at Adore Magazine, or go straight to their magazine here.

fabulous fauteuils – the axel three-seater

Yeah that’s right, this chair is amazing… Covered in recycled jute sacks brought back from Europe and finished with a “passiflora” welting, this chair(s) stopped me in my tracks. It is at once, totally over the top and totally understated. It is said to provide “the togetherness of a sofa and the solitude of a chair,” it is and isn’t all at the same time …well done Anthropologie.

boats + bubbles

…second only to my favorite combo of boats and bubbly. This space transports me. I love the muraled wall, especially in the monochromatic blue. It’s a great idea with great impact. It creates a sense of space – even if you don’t have any. The bathtub is made by the London-based firm Drummonds who puts a contemporary spin on the freestanding tub, finishing them with shiny, bright hues – Mrs. Peacock is the color shown here, and The Clyde is the tub.
Not to be missed are The Usk, The Torridge, The Tay, and The Nith.

approachable pad

Take it down a notch, literally, at this swank but approachable pad. I love the mix of styles here. The chic and stylish chandeliers, sconces, and wall art which play perfectly off of the grounding stone floors, the tropical plants, and the relaxed piles of floor cushions – all composed beneath the interesting geometry of the white beams.

fabulous fauteuils – wood + wool

From Silvera
Designed by Patricia Urquiola, from Artelano

Designed by Renaud Bonzon for Objekto

Designed by Antonio Cittero for B&B Italia
I started this post because I had seen a few chairs around which had caught my attention and I wanted to share them. But as I started looking for others to add I was blown away by how many amazing designs are out there! So this will have to serve as the first installment as I seek and find fabulous fauteuils (armchairs in french.) I was particularly inspired by the combination of the wood elements with ivory and wool and the mix of ethnic and modern, raw and refined – thus they were first.
If you have any suggestions I’d love to see them! Send them to me here.
