welcome winter
First and foremost this is beautiful… but also the perfect harbinger of winter …And what a great idea to freeze spoons – it would be a great idea for a cocktail party!

If you are not already familiar with Unhappy Hipsters…
Let me rephrase that… if you have not yet had a chance to check out Unhappy Hipsters, it is a spectacular site which merges exquisite pairings of interior design, photography, cynicism, and wit. Photographs from interior design publications (the hipper and designier the better) are submitted with witty and cynical quips about the image. Submissions are welcomed. Reading them is addictive.

Camping had seemed authentically on-trend, not even a hint of twee—that is, until his ruggedly obscure retreat went mainstream. And so, a standoff ensued with only one winner to emerge: he who was more over it.

I don’t remember how I came across the photography of Linda Plaisted of Many Muses Studio, but one of the first series I saw was the Songbird Series and I was in love. Plaisted is a classically trained painter, photographer, and mixed media artist who has been a pioneer in contemporary photomontage. Each piece that she creates is layered by hand with images she has captured through photography, drawing, painting, or collecting – the result – pieces with extraordinary depth and detail which draw you in to their moody and dreamy worlds.
I saw this home photographed by Spanish photographer Mauricio Fuertes and had to share. Based in Barcelona, he takes exceptional photographs of exceptional interiors. I love the lines and the perspective, the muted stone and washed wood, and the exposed, treehouse-like vibe which makes you feel like you are living right in the middle of the forest.
Check out his work and some of his fabulous locations here.
