load it in MY trunk

Let’s just say it’s hard to find something that I don’t want from The Loaded Trunk.

Founded in 2009, The Loaded Trunk is an online global boutique showcasing found art objects, artifacts, and textiles from Africa, Indonesia, Turkey, India, Thailand, Vietnam, Mexico, Guatemala, and other remote and exotic locations around the world. Roni Jaco, the founder, loves living out of a suitcase ~ traveling the globe in a continuous exploration of other cultures – collecting art and textiles that speak to her through their organic beauty and artistry. Thankfully so, because there are some truly fabulous pieces, for truly fabulous prices.

color reform

I find color so inspiring, so when I saw ABC Carpet’s Color Reform Collection I was in love. The collection was first started as a movement to salvage imperfect, vintage carpets. Each one-of-a-kind rug is first neutralized from it’s original color, retaining the essence of it’s design, and then overdyed to create a new, uniquely hued rug. What results is a work of art which retains the inconsistencies and imperfections of the original piece and adds layers of rich, saturated hues. Love them.

Thank you to The Curiosity Workshop for the inspiration and these images.

yes please – Jonathan Adler’s Floral Jute Rug

More fabulousness from the man who believes that “tassels are the earrings of the home”…
Jonathan Adler’s Flora Jute Rug.
Described as macrame for your floor, it adds some “organic modernism” to your home. It is definitely a blend of his rustic modernism and irreverent luxury.
